Jan A. Aertsen, Ph.D. (1982) in Philosophy, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Cologne and Director of the Thomas-Institute. He has published extensively on Thomas Aquinas and the doctrine of the transcendentals including Nature and Creature, Thomas Aquinas's Way of Thought (Brill, 1988).
