Card stock cover with green device printed in both English and Perso-Arabic script, map with publication collation and principal historical dates on verso, each monthly page illustrated with large monochrome drawing at top and boxes for individual days on calendar inscribed with significant historical event which had occurred on that day, small artistic illustration of jewelry, textiles or other along with Afghan proverb in English at bottom of each page. Pencil notations on back, 2 x 1/2 inch chip on back which extends less than half inch into illustration on front of page, otherwise clean and Good+. Among the subjects of the 8 x 9 inch drawings are, the village of Kamdesh in Nuristan, Khwaja Parsa's shrine in Balkh, a grave in Kunar province, partridge trainers, a brass beater and seven others. Copies of this attractive keepsake of Afghan culture scarce. The Afghanistan Relief Committee is a 501 (c) (3) organization formed in 1980 by former American Ambassador to Afghanistan Robert Neumann to help refugees from the war between the mujahideen and the Soviet controlled government. It has occasionally been accused of being a cover for the support of anti-communist programs in Afghanistan..
