Very nice copy The author was sent to the United States in 1845 by the Swedish Iron Office to gather information about the American iron industry (industrial espionage?). This work is destined to receive more attention from American historians, because it contains a good deal of information,often of statistical nature, which is not available elsewhere.

Stockholm: P.A.Norstedt & Soner, 1845., 1845. 8vo. pp. 96. A fine uncut & unopened copy in original printed wrs. First Edition of this rare Swedish pamphlet on the iron and steel industry in the United States. The study deals primarily but not exclusively with Pennsylvania, and there are frequent comparisons with European production. The author travelled in America in 1843-44. Occupying pp. 92-96 is a statistical appendix contributed by L.F.Svanberg. Not in Sabin, Goldsmiths' or Kress.. F.
