5 1/4 x 8 1/4 in. 303 pgs. Quarter natural linen with brown cloth boards. This is a first edition, first printing, with the words: 'first published in September 1938' on the copyright pg, with no other dates. Price of $2.50 on DJ. Condition of the book is GOOD+ ; no edge wear, corners not bumped, ends of spine very slightly bumped. Covers very clean and fresh but there is a brownish staining along spine edge at front, and back, with spine very subtly brownish as well. Appears to be from old water damage, with slight staining upper front, and in several places inside text, with corners showing faint water marks on about 30 pgs. Otherwise text is very clean, and the binding very tight, with no damage or looseness.No markings to text whatsoever. Edges of text block have some extremely faint spotting, and endpapers along hinge are foxed. The DJ condition is GOOD ; not price-clipped ($2.50), large dark blue stain to upper front cover and spine mottled and darkened in brownish color, existing much more subtly to covers along the spine. Otherwise very clean and fresh, with very minor wear to edges and no tears at all. Back is very good, as are flaps. In a new Mylar wrapper. Fiction. RGR.
