"This copy number 43/200, Alan Lee" A beautiful book bound in blue leather and cloth with the JRRT monogram on the front boards of the book and the original publishers slipcase. The single volume has silver gilded edges, red ribbon marker bound in, and signed limitation page. Fifty original illustrations by Alan Lee thru the book. You can follow how the movies were first visualized by Lee, and carried thru by Peter Jackson, with Lee's assistance throughout the movie's production. A scarce book, again one of only 200 produced. The cloth of the book is clean and unmarked, with no wear to the edges, and the leather is unmarked, clean and bright. The Tolkien monogram is clean and bright on both book and slipcase. A minor area on the backside of the slipcase, showing some soiling, and minor marks from a cleaning attempt. The slipcase shows some minor wear to the edges, with a few frayed edges on the base and top of the case. The text block and all illustrations are clean and bright, no signatures or writing whatsoever. A beautiful, highly collectable Signed Limited Numbered Edition for the Tolkien collector.
