Colish in Mount Vernon, New York. LeRoy Neiman has created thirteen printings for this edition, and has signed the frontispiece serigraph. Jacques-Yves Cousteay has written the special Preface which he has signed on page xi. The text was composed on Monotype Scotch Roman and printed from the type on a pure cotton fibre paper made especially by The Curtis Paper Company. The full leather binding was by George Wieck, design and typography by Bert Clarke. This copy is number 143. Unblemished condition In the original leather/cloth slip-case with empy registration card laid in; Herman Melville's legendary story of Captain Ahab and his team hunting the whale Moby Dick. In order to write Moby Dick, Melville needed an inkwell the size of Vesuvius, but to portray the insane rage of today's man, the Ocean would not be sufficient to moisten his pen. - Jacques-Yves Cousteau .
