A long warm inscription by the author to her grandson, signed and dated 1949, on the front free endpaper and signed again on the title page. Illustrated with black and white photos that appear to be neatly hand colored with color pencils. Blue cloth with bright gold titling on the cover and spine. Very light wear at the corners and spine ends, top edge dusty, otherwise Very Good Plus. Acid staining along inside hinges. Pages are age browned but clean and unmarked, and the binding is tight. Dust jacket has light soiling and edge wear, short tears, light chipping at spine head and is Very Good in a clear protector. First Edition. Jacket Condition: Very Good. Size: 8vo - over 7 3/4 in - 9 3/4 in Tall. Year: 1949.
