Mr. Blumenthal founded The Spiral Press in 1926 with A.G. Hoffman. He was also the author of numerous books and articles, including "Bruce Rogers: A Life in Letters," "Typographic Years," and "The Printed Book in America." The book was signed in pencil in 1969 at the Taft School Library in Watertown, Connecticut, not far from Mr. Blumenthal's home in West Cornwall. The book includes the Reynolds Stone-designed bookplate of Walter Frankel, bibliophile and librarian at the school. This is copy number 189 of 585 Limited Edition copies.
