Illustrated with etchings by Denis Tegetmeier. Book designed by Eric Gill. Printed and bound by Hague & Gill in High Wycombe, England. Hand-set in Bunyan type, designed by Gill and used for the first time in this book. Paper is Barcham Green hand-made paper. Bound in full tan buckram, stamped in red, blue, and gold. George Macy (founder and publisher of LEC) notes in his bibliography of the LEC that the illustration facing page 4 is of a monk with a staff in his left hand. Sterne's text speaks of a monk with a staff in his right hand. Macy claimed that 1,499 of his 1,500 subscribers wrote him to tell him of the error. Because the illustrations were originally copper plate etchings, Tegetmeier had the staff in the monk's correct hand, but when a copper etching is printed on the page, the image is reversed. Age spotting to spine. Front top corner bumped. Text and illustrations bright. Comes in a VG slipcase with age spotting to slipcase.
