No publication date, only a copyright date of 1919. Endpages have a red ine drawing of a high-stepping Sambo with his umbrella. Orange/brown cloth cover, a little rubbed at extremities. Cover has an illustration of Sambo holding a green umbrella pasted on. Paste-on is brightly colored, slightly rubbed, Pages are yellowed but clean and unmarked. A title in the publisher's Peter Rabbit Series (9 titles listed on recto of half title page; colored endpapers show scenes from various fairy tales), very good- in the original cloth boards. There are eight small holes along the length of the red cloth spine, the largest being slightly larger than the eraser on a No. 2 pencil. Internal pages have some sporadic soiling; signatures are a little separated at the middle of the book. Color illustration covers entire front board (Sambo with a green umbrella startled by a tiger), with just slight wear at edges. 24 full page color illustrations, including frontispiece. No names or other markings in book.
