Text on front cover identifies the book as one in the series Greens Fireside Stories. The slim book has three-hole string-binding but also a later stitched binding along the spine. There is a color wood-engraved frontispiece (or plate). It would appear from other WorldCat listings pertaining to this series that a second color illustration is called for, but no longer present in this volume. (Indeed, common sense suggests that if one Bogie is illustrated, the second would be similarly represented.) Overall, a juvenile book evidently prized by its original owner(s), but reflecting heavy usage over the one hundred sixty plus years. .
