Boston: Little, Brown and Company, 1970. First edition, as stated. Hardcover. Good +/fair. 311 pages. An island community during the depression is peaceful until the arrival of a minister who shatters the quiet and is murdered. Quarter brown cloth over orange boards with gilt titles on spine, brown end papers. A little edge wear to cover with some wrinkles along bottom edge, gilt bright, corners and spine ends a little bumped, a little spotting of end papers, interior pages bright with scattered stains, binding tight. Illustrated white dust jacket with black and white titles on front cover and black ttitles on spine is chipped and wormed at edges, remains of old stickers on front jacket, spotting, scrubbing, short tears at bottom edge, creases, not price clipped.
