The gold stamping on the (green leather textured) cover is an original design based on artwork discovered during the research. Black & white photos and drawings, charts, history, etc. A beautiful book, indeed. The spine has an elegant "P" on it, no other words or names appear on spine or cover. Hardcover.spine : The outer portion of a book which covers the actual binding. The spine usually faces outward when a book is placed on a shelf. Also known as the back.
