Jonathan Livingston Seagull signed

by Bach, Richard

New York: MacMillan. NF/F. 1970. 1st Edition. Hardcover; 1st Printing. 10, 20. 75119617 . 1st edition/1st printing, MacMillan, 1970. SIGNED and INSCRIBED by the author on the half-title page: 'For Cindy! With trust there's a word here to mirror your adventures - Very best wishes, Richard Bach - 1970 -". Very scarce in the 1st printing as it was a tiny 1st printing run, and even more scarce signed and inscribed. Near fine plus book which is clean and straight, bound in blue cloth with unblemished white spine printing, with no previous owner markings or handwriting and no soiling, but with a small bump to the upper front corner and a very tiny, faint smudge at the upper back spine fold. The 4 pages of tissue overlay illustrations in the middle of the book are fine condition (many times found missing or badly damaged). The fine dustjacket is price intact, clean, crisp and unfaded. Jonathan Livingston Seagull's search for himself and a meaning to his life, on his own terms. This book has developed quite a following over the years, and has been elevated past cult status with its enduring appeal. ; B&W Photographs; Signed by Author .

Printed Privately. Confidential.,1909. FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 56pp. One of only 250 copies privately printed by R. & R. Clark of Edinburgh. Inscribed by Shaw on the half title page to Frances Noyes Hart; "The Committee refused to accept this statement; and there was a very pretty row about it which is fully described in the preface to the Shewing up of Blanco Posnet. G. Bernard Shaw. London. 3rd Oct. 1931. To Frances Noyes Hart". A fine copy in original blue stiff card wrappers printed in black to upper cover. Housed in a blue vellum chemise which is lettered in gilt, reproducing the exact lettering, even using the same typeface, as the printed front cover. This is then housed in a quarter green morocco slip case with raised bands and gilt rules and lettering to the spine. The slip case is rubbed and worn but has done its job of keeping the booklet and chemise in fine condition. Frances Noyes Hart was an American short story writer. She became famous after winning the Pulizer prize for her 1927 Crime… Read More

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1922. Signed and Numbered First. Hardcover. Very Good with no dust jacket/No Dustjacket. From the signed, limited, numbered first printing, this is number 266, signed by the author at the limitation page opposite the full title. The pages are bright saving some toning around the deckled edges and quite clean except for a very few scattered spots of foxing; no owners' marks; the quarter cloth binding leans gently to the right but remains tight; the paper boards and paper title plate at the spine show some chipping around the edges, with a pressure mark at the bottom right front corner, a small inward turn and surface scuff at the top left rear corner, and some surface creasing at the corners and right edge of the title plate; some fading is also evident along the head edges of the paper and along the right rear, and the title plate is age-toned; nonetheless, a remarkably clean and attractive book, well-preserved. 459pp.; an extra copy of the title plate is tipped in at the… Read More

Description:
Paris: Julliard, 1960. First Edition. Softcover. Very Good Condition. An advance copy (with s.p. on the rear cover) of the limited edition (though not on Marais paper) with plain covers and an interview and portrait of Wright. Lacking a glassine wrapper, but likely to have never had one. Light wear and age toning, inscribed by Wright to Françoise Sagan and additionally signed by the translator Helen Bokanowski. Slight browning to covers, but an attractive copy and a terrific association of two giants of 20th century literature. With an announcement for the book, a bit worn, laid in. Wright lived in Paris from 1946 until his death in late 1960 - he became in French citizen in 1947. Published as The Long Dream in 1958, it is often viewed as the final book in the Native Son, Black Boy sequence. It traces the life of Fishbelly, the son of a Mississippi mortician in the Jim Crow South. Size: Octavo (8vo). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Description:
The Macmillan Company, 1970. Bevo Howard Aviation Pioneer Edition: 1 out of 3000 limited editions issued by the Beverly Howard Memorial Foundation. Hardcover. Book is in still fantastic condition with the exception of the spine cracking along the front leatherette board, a very common quirk that we've found with this edition. Some very light sunning to the spine, and very light smudging to back board. An incredibly beautiful copy. Interior is very clean, with Richard Bach's signature on the half title page. It is the 1970 edition, 25th printing. This is a special memorial copy of Jonathan Livingston Seagull created for an event for renown pilot Beverly "Bevo" Howard in 1973 in South Carolina. This edition was signed for Parrish Books at a local independent bookstore. When presented with this edition, Mr. Bach mentioned never seeing one before. An entirely unique slipcase accompanies this edition. The front piece of the slipcase displays the text: Bevo Howard A Tribute to Aviaton's Pioneers. It… Read More
