Mexico City: Editorial Union, 1951. Original Wraps. Good. With a foreword by Antonio Espina. Document folder style graphic wraps containing 30 Prints, 17 Grayscale and 13 in colour., and 17 pp text in two columns in castellano including pp in French and in English. Salvador Bartolozzi was the eldest of four children of the marriage of Luke Bartolozzi, Italian , a native of Lucca , and the Spanish Obdulia Rubio. He published his first drawings in the magazine New World when he was only fourteen. In 1901, Bartolozzi moved to Paris , where he began a career as a painter, but returned to Spain in 1906 and began working with his father in the workshop of the School of San Fernando, while performing illustrations for Editorial Calleja. Collaborated with numerous publications (including The Tale Weekly, The Book People and Spanish and American Plate), and in 1915 was appointed artistic director Rafael Calleja Calleja Publishing. In 1925 launched a new weekly children, Pinocchio , which developed comic with the character created by Carlo Collodi , a very personal way. He Also worked as a designer in plays such as 'The Shoemaker's Prodigious Wife' by Federico GarcÃŒa Lorca or the other, from Miguel de Unamuno . After the civil war , he was forced to take refuge in France. When the Gallic country was invaded by Germany in 1940, Bartolozzi fled to Casablanca from where he made his way to Veracruz in late 1941. In Mexico, he continued his career as a writer and illustrator, and also introduced in the field of animation . He died in Mexico City on July 9, 1950.
