Original 3/4 green cloth boards with marbled paper (gold and black), stamped gold lettering on cover and spine. Cloth and paper are clean with slight wear to paper at front board fore edge, slightly heavier wear to about 1" of rear board papered edge. Binding is tight & square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Printed on quality paper, double column format. "Copyright, 1898, David C. Cook Publishing Company" appears at bottom of first page. Previous owner name and date (Xmas 1903) neatly penned on front free endpaper. 96 pages with preface by the author. Lovely black and white illustrations throughout.

Intra Muros (Latin for "Within the Walls"), is a famous Christian book, scarce in the first edition. It is the author's story of her near death experience in which she crossed over into Heaven, with many detailed descriptions of her experiences there, and some of her resulting personal insights. This book is often known today by the title "My Dream of Heaven." Well written, life affirming and intriguing...it reminded me in part of the novel "Lost Horizon," which of course was a famous work of fiction written much later (1933).
