Then digitally reproduced small Giclée prints of the artist's original 20 x 24" Polaroid image transfers were printed archivally on Crane's Museo paper using an Epson 4000 printer. A modern day Cabinet of Wonders. Broadfoot uses A. S. Byatt's "Things Are Not What They Seem" to accompany her images as "a numinous guide to viewing" these wonders of nature. Each photograph with numbers and dimensions of objects in the negativ. A number of plates with pencilled annotations on back of mounts, with numbering and sometimes dimensions of objects. Cont. calf, with an all over decoration of floral elements. Spine on five raised bands. Covers framed by double gilt fillets. Foot of spine stamped H. Vian / Paris. Folio (460 x 370 mm). Slightly rubbed, extremeties worn. An extremely important album from the Wolcott family`s travel to Europe, covering their stay in Great Britain August 1865 – March 1866.
Full leather bound (worn) folio (34.5 x 27 cm); 101 leaves; ca. 761 albumen photos and ca. 106 Wood engravings and lithographs; all dipped in. The photos show landscapes, historic buildings, important people and important paintings from visited galleries.
On inside of front cover ex libris of Roger Wolcott`s father Joshua Huntington Wolcott (1804-1891). On fore edge handwritten: "Roger Walcott // Souvenir of travel".
Leather worn; Front hinge broken and loose; fore edge loose; leaves uneven, worn margins; photos in general in fine condition with good contrast.; only few stains; overall, considering age, in good condition.
There is also the famous 1863 portrait of Charles Dickens by Jahn Watkins (see Getty Museum 84.XD.1157.1005).

This limited-edition Dos-à-Dos book contains 30 images printed on Canson Edition Etching Rag, plus 2 additional loose prints on Somerset Velvet encased in a custom die-cut envelope with foil-stamp.
