Bible study and Bible stories for children, generously illustrated throughout with engravings, with decorative borders on all text pages. Rust colored cloth over beveled boards printed in gilt and black, 8.25" tall and 2.5" thick. Covers heavily scuffed with additional rubbing to the corners and spine ends, good hinges, sound text block, clean and white pages with a very tiny transparent stain to the far top margin of the first few pages, no names or other markings.. Hard Cover. Fair. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

New York: Henry S. Goodspeed & Co., 1873. with an Introduction by Dr. L.P. Brockett 8vo size decorative cloth; 1,158 pages. Every page has a beautifully decorated engraved border: angels, cherubim, seraphim at the top and an open bible centered among flourishes at the bottom. There are also several hundred full page black and white engraved illustrations. Dark brown endpapers. Covers are brown cloth with bevelled edges. They are decorated with gilt titles and illustrations and black decorations. Ingram Cobbin (1777 - 1851) was an English minister. When ill heath forced his retirement from the pulpit, he turned to writing hymns and biblical and scholastic works. Book is partly disbound with front cover detached bound to front endpaper and back cover partly detached. Worn corners and head and heel of spine and to detached areas.
