Scarce one-page handwritten letter on Biltmore Hotel stationery by the late Hall of Fame pitcher best known for his career with the New York Mets where he was the pitching ace on the 1969 World Series winning team. Addressed to journalist Richard Tobin. In full: "Thanks for your note. I'm sorry we missed base at Riverfront Stadium. I got your note from one of our players just before the game started and was unable to make contact with you. I've sent the picture off to the young lad and he should have it ina day or two-- Hope all is well-- Very Best, Tom Seaver." With the envelope addressed in Seaver's hand.
