Boston: The Richmond Press, 1958. Wraps. Good. Second printing. Signed, with a brief inscription, by the author. Blue-green wraps. 52 pp. A short history and account of the 11-11-11 Club, a group of World War I veterans that met every year on Armistice Day to celebrate the end of World War I and its veterans. The work is a somewhat humorous, if disjointed, account of the group, accompanied by a lengthy ballad of the group. With a roster of the club, including those deceased, as of 1958. GOOD condition. A few small dark stains to the front cover. Minor fading and edgewear.

No Place: No publisher, 1897. Unbound. Good. 1897 Marksman Pin to Sergt (Sergeant) J.H. Mills. No producer or place. 1897 date inscribed on the reverse. Measures about 1 ½ inches tall by 1 inch wide. Safety pin style back. Three pieces, attached by metal rings. Top two pieces are the same thin banner, reading "marksman, with the bottom piece being some sort of stylized cross formation, with the date 1818 at the bottom, and perhaps an ornate letter L on the other three points. Reverse has 1897 and Sergt J.H. Mills inscribed on it. No indication as to who issued this piece. GOOD condition metal with an overall dark patina, with minor soiling and wear.

No Place: Reed and Associates, 1944. Wraps. Good. Red, blue and white illustrated wraps. Lower front wrapper a turning dial serving as a spotter for 16 famous American planes. Single sheet folded into fourths. A piece offering three press out paper models of World War II Allied airplanes, featuring the American Hellcat, the British Spitfire, and the Russian Stormovik. GOOD condition. All planes complete but some are starting to detach along the perforations on the rear cover. Minor toning and soiling. Some scuffing and curling along the extremities.

New York: United States Servicemen's Fund, Publisher, 1973. Tabloid. Good. Tabloid newspaper format. 4 pp. A few black and white illustrations. A newsletter issued by the United States Servicemen's Fund, an organization created to promote free speech in the US military. It organized events and exhibits in protest of the Vietnam War and supported many GI underground publications. This issue with an article on the trial of Pat Chenoweth, a sailor accused of sabotage. A short piece discusses the bombing of a bookstore by a member of a white supremacist group. The store had hosted a group of Black soldiers against the Vietnam War. Also present is an article on the USS Midway and its homeporting in Japan, including protests against this by sailors on the ship. GOOD+ condition. Horizontal and vertical fold creases present. Minor wrinkling. Light toning.

A newsletter issued by the United States Servicemen's Fund, an organization created to promote free speech in the US military. It organized events and exhibits in protest of the Vietnam War, and supported many GI underground publications. This issue with an article on the IRS investigating the USSF, a look at the recent cease fire agreement, etc. GOOD+ condition. Horizontal fold crease present, with two vertical fold creases. Minor wrinkling. Light toning.

New York: Viking Press, 1974. Cloth. Good/Good. . Blue paper covered boards with white cloth spine. In price clipped jacket. 192 pp. Black and white illustrations throughout. A monograph on the life and work of Alfred R. Waud, an artist who traveled with the Army of the Potomac during the Civil War, creating detailed drawings and art of battles and military life during the war, drawn from his eyewitness perspective. With a critical look at his art, as well as correspondence by him and others relating to his life and career. GOOD condition. Uneven toning to the jacket, with minor soiling and a few faint stains. Some tearing at the flap and spine hinges, with associated creasing and minor chipping. Dampstain to the jacket at the center rear spine. Minor fading, soiling and edgewear to the book, with foxing along the upper rear spine.

No Place: 82nd All American Airborne Division, Publisher. Unbound. Fair. No place or date, perhaps Berlin, Germany, 1945. Large single sheet of paper folded into 4 pages. 25 by 18 ½ inches. Black and white photos and illustrations throughout. A newspaper style piece issued by members of the 82nd All American Airborne Division, presumably from a recent occupation of Berlin, in 1945. A large stylized map of Europe and North Africa is on the front cover, depicting some areas of action. Interior with news on various members, events, etc. Rear cover with photos of Berlin locations heavily bombed. FAIR condition. Paper is very fragile, and bears a horizontal and vertical fold crease. Pages essentially torn in half along the horizontal crease, with a large tear at the upper right corner. Spine fold also mostly torn. A few other small tears to the paper. Faint dampstain to the front page. Minor soiling and general toning. VERY fragile, with many tears along the folds.

A magazine produced for members of the United States Navy, with this issue featuring an article on the Allied victory in Europe and subsequent transfer of ships and troops to the Japan area, the saving of the USS Franklin, capture of the U-Boat 505, the Battle of the Atlantic, etc. GOOD condition. Wrappers toned, with some soiling, fading and scuffing. Some spotting along the spine. Minor tears at the hinges. A few small chips along the fore edge. Vertical crease, with a few other creases, present. Some toning in the interior.

No Place: US Government Printing Office, presumed Publisher, 1945. Wraps. Good. Black and white photo illustrated wraps. 80 pp. Black and white photos throughout. A magazine produced for members of the United States Navy, with this issue featuring an article on the secret weapon/technology Fuze, which enabled bombs to explode when targets such as planes were near, enhancing accuracy. Developed in secret, the device was used against the Japanese and German forces, both of which were not aware of the technology. Also present is a short recap of the actions of the USS Enterprise and other news and insight into the US Navy. GOOD condition. Wrappers toned, with some soiling, fading and scuffing. Minor tears at the hinges. Magazine curled along the spine Some toning in the interior.

A primarily visual history of the Civil War, with the last several pages of the work discussing the Spanish-American War and the adding of Puerto Rico as a colony. Many illustrations of battle scenes from the Civil War, with illustrations by Forbes, Taylor, Wau Hillen, Becker, Lovie, Schell, Crane and Davis, among others. GOOD condition. Heavy uneven fading and toning to the covers, with brownish soiling and scuff marks. Some staining. Cloth split, frayed and very worn along the extremities and hinges. White paint mark at the lower center spine. Title page with a vertical tear running almost its entire length. Hinges weak but intact. Scattered foxing, minor soiling and a few small stains in the book.

A short history of the actions on a whole of the United States Navy, discussing in brief the War with Tripoli, the Revolutionary War, War of 1812 and the US-Mexican War, followed by biographies of noted figures in the American Navy, chronicling their actions in battle, or while in the service of the navy. This includes sections on Nicholas Biddle, John Paul Jones, John Barry, Thomas Truxtun, Edward Preble, Richard Somers, Stephen Decatur, Oliver H. Perry, Jesse Duncan Elliott, Stephen Cassin and many others. GOOD condition. A few pages misbound in the contents section. Heavy fading, minor spotting, staining and soiling to the covers. New York: Harper and Brothers, 1913. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket. 352 pp including index. With 3 maps (two in color) and a frontis portrait of Grant. VOLUME 2 ONLY. This volume discusses the Chickamauga and Atlanta campaigns, Sherman's march to the sea, the Confederacy at sea, attempts at reconstruction, etc. EX-LIBRARY in VERY GOOD condition. Re-bound in red library cloth with usual markings on spine, as well as pockets and pastedowns present. Minor soiling and rubbing to the covers. Text clean and solid with a small, faint dampstain present in the top margin of the pages. This does not affect the text.

A detailed history of Napoleon's Imperial Guard, examining its origins, training, tactics and history, as well as its role in the Napoleonic Wars and the many rules and regulations that governed the Guard, as well as differences in uniforms, medals, etc. Originating with handpicked soldiers by Napoleon, the Imperial Guard served as Napoleon's elite fighting force, earning honor and extra pay. GOOD+ condition. Moderate to heavy fading along the spine, with some fading to the covers. Light soiling and rubbing to the covers. Interior clean and solid.

Dark brown cloth. 1095, 80 pp. A lengthy report issued by the state of Massachusetts, containing short histories, including some battle accounts of the various Massachusetts regiments. This includes the 1st, 2nd, 7th, 9th-12th, 13th, 15th-40th, etc., plus the various cavalry regiments, light battery reginents and others. With rosters of officers, lists of officers who died, etc. Also printed is an opinion of the US Attorney General on the pay of African-American troops. FAIR condition. Heavy fading and uneven discoloration to the covers. Some soiling and scuffing. Cloth worn and frayed along the extremities and hinges. Gift inscription (to a town) on the first endpaper. Scattered foxing, some soiling and staining throughout. The last 20 pages appear to have been chewed on the lower corner, with 1 ½ inch triangular loss to the bottom corners. Rear endpapers very soiled and worn.

This issue contains a lengthy report from Dwight Eisenhower on military operations in Europe discussing planning and strategies for invading mainland Europe in France and elsewhere. This includes a look at the evaluations of the German forces, places to establish Allied forces, discussion of plans such as Operation Overlord, Anvil, the COSSAC plan, the D-Day invasion, etc. GOOD condition. Slightly ex-library with three stamps on the front cover. Faint vertical fold crease present. Minor toning.

Illustrated wraps. 31 pp. With a few ads throughout, as well as black and white photos and illustrations. Front cover byline reads 'Published in the interests of the soldier patients at Walter Reed Hospital.' A magazine featuring various articles relating to the US Armed Forces, including athletics and recreation, the US Veterinary Corps, an article on the Hospital Train and its use, an overview of the US Army and its structure, etc. FAIR/GOOD condition. Rear wrap rather chipped, tattered, creased and torn along the upper extremity, with a 2 inch piece missing from the upper left corner. Some creasing to the piece, with uneven soiling and browning, especially along the extremities. Interior solid with some wrinkling. Two small tears and associated creasing/bumping present to the upper extremity of the last half of the magazine.

A visual history of the Allied fight against U-Boats in World War II, providing photos of planes, submarines (U-boats) and other subjects, with explanatory and historical commentary that documents the war in the Atlantic. This includes British operations, operations off Iceland, the Bay of Biscay, off the coast of the Americas, etc. NEAR FINE with a hint of edgewear.

A primarily visual record of the US Air Force's use of the B-24 Liberator during World War II, documenting and discussing design and technical aspects, various innovations, as well as use in the European and Pacific theaters during the War. With some photos of nose art. VERY GOOD+ condition. Minor edgewear. Light toning to the paper.

A yearbook style work presenting all members of the 1542nd Engineering Survey Co., including photos, names, places of residence and a humorous quote. A few entries without photos. Also included is a short history of the company, including its deployments, accompanied by photos of New Guinea and the Philippines. GOOD+ condition. General toning to the wrappers, with minor soiling. Extremities and hinges rather scuffed. Light toning in the interior.
