Autobiography of Elmer Scott, Dallas civic leader and businessman. 163 pp. Cardboard boards covered with naturally tan heavy paper wrapper. Front board has very small spot, and rear board shows some discoloration/rubbing. Corners and spine ends show a little wear, and cover at top of spine has 1/4" missing. Edges also show some rubbing. Paper is somewhat tanned and foreward page edge has small spot. Front free end paper has gift inscription to previous owner and top right corner has price, $4 written in ink. Interior is clean.

College Station, Texas: Texas A&M University Press, 2003. First Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Fine. 8vo. Representative Sam Johnson served heroically in Vietnam and in Congress from 1991 to 2019, passing away in May 2020. This copy of his autobiography is the 6th printing and is signed and inscribed on the half-title page. Book is bright, crisp, tight and clean, as is the dust jacket. Very collectible.

Published by press established by Friends of the Austin Public Library in order to publish local history and housed in the Austin-Travis County Collection. 99 pp. including Index and Postscript with the Roster of Company B, 21st Texas Cavalry, in which Walton served. Light corner wear and spine end wear, with top edge of spine having some fraying of the black cloth of boards. Bright gilt facsimile of Walton's signature on front board. Clean and tight. Dust jacket is tan with brown print and shows light corner and spine end chipping. Now in protective cover. Laid in is the Friends of the Austin Public Library Publication card with a listing of 50 sponsors, including Mrs. J. Frank Dobie and Sen. and Mrs. Ralph W. Yarborough. Also laid in is a news clipping with the title, "Austin Confederate" by William B. Ruggles, about the release of the book.

Front panel has waviness from dampness and inside of dust jacket shows stains. Still, photo is crisp with little effect from dampness. Now in protective cover.

Price-clipped dust jacket has chipping on edges, especially on spine ends. Spine has damp stain along length of hinges but does not affect book. Now in protective cover.

Findley signed the the front free end paper with inscription "o Betty and Warren with best wishes.." and dated 7-15-10..Memoir of a true-life adventurer with cave exploration, scuba & sky diving , service in the Navy in WWII, along with other pranks and close calls. 621 pp. Last several pages are wavy at bottom edge as if affected by damp, and back board has damp stain on rear paste down paper and board has slight bow at the hinge. Interior pages are clean and bright. Dust jacket is bright and crisp.

Clean, crisp and bright copy with bright red boards and bright gilt lettering. Light bumping to corners and spine ends. Dust jacket shows rubbing on frong edge on dark background. Also creasing and rubbing on bottom spine ends. Creasing on top edges with a few minute tears. Back cover has white background and shows rubbing and soiling. One almost 1" in diameter stain on bottom edge on back cover.

White backtround is slightly darkened on top edge and base of spine.

From the dust jacket, "An abridgement of the six volumes of 'The Second World War'" 1063 pp. Light edgewear on red boards. Previous owner's name on front pasted down paper, and one page dogeared. Bottom edges of boards have some blue flecks which may have come from a bookcase on which the book sat. Pages are somewhat yellowed from age. Dust jacket has very light chipping, tearing and creasing.
