Chicago, IL: Chicago Flexible Shaft Co.. Staples pamphlet. Some bent corners, loose pages, and 4 pgs. were ripped in the middle and taped (tape has yellowed). 31 pgs. Chicago Flexible Shaft Co., which would eventually be known as Sunbeam, was founded in Chicago in the early 1890s by John K. Stewart and Thomas J. Clark, who made mechanical horse clippers and sheep shearers. Between 1908 and 1936, Chicago Flexible Shaft operated as a subsidiary of Wm. Cooper & Nephews, an English company. During this time, the company began to manufacture a variety of electrical appliances, including irons, mixers, coffeemakers, and toasters. In 1946, 10 years after Cooper sold the company, it became the Sunbeam Corp. . Very Good. Soft cover. 1934.

Saddle-stapled wraps with an intact string loop at the top corner which is original and intact. 9 inches tall; 36 pages with text on the inside covers. Illustrated with a color centerfold advertisement for mixer and attachments inserted in middle of booklet. Advertisements for other Sunbeam products on page 36. The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Moderate shelf handling wear.. A handsome piece of Mid-century Advertisement and Cookery, Surprisingly, only one copy in institutions at the Harvard Library. [OCLC, 1031907985] There are other Sunbeam publications but each with a different page count.
