Aldous Huxley: A Biography Paperback - 2002

by Dana Sawyer

From the publisher

Privileged the moment he was born into a wealthy and prominent family of intellectuals, Huxley spent his life exploring the meaning of human life. In addition to Brave New World, early output included Crome Yellow, Antic Hay, Point Counter Point, and Eyeless in Gaza. Huxley's literary reputation deteriorated when he left in 1937 for California but he continued to write in many genres and later novels include After Many A Summer, Island, and the Devils of Loudun. He became deeply interested in mysticism and parapsychology and Doors of Perception and Heaven and Hell describe his experimentation with mind-altering drugs.
