About the author

Yash Ghai is the Sir Y. K. Pao Professor of Public Law at the University of Hong Kong, having previously taught at the universities of East Africa (Dar es Salaam), Uppsala and Warwick, He has been a visiting professor at several universities, including Harvard, Yale, Wisconsin, Melbourne, Toronto, London, the South Pacific, the National University of Singapore and the National Law School of India. He has published extensively on comparative public law, human rights, ethnic relations, state-owned companies, and the sociology of law. He has advised a number of states and political parties on the drafting and reforms of constitutions.
