The Battle of Blaauwberg, also known as the Battle of Cape Town, was fought near to there on 8 January 1806. A small but significant military engagement. It established British rule in South Africa. This work presents a full account of the events and history leading to the battle and the aftermath thereof. Thoroughly researched this sets the scene at the Cape and then details the battle per se, the Generals, and the British & Dutch regiments.
