About the author

Chua Beng Huat is Professor in the Department of Sociology and the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore. His most recent book is Life Is Not Complete Without Shopping (2003). He is founding executive editor of the journal Inter-Asia Cultural Studies. Koichi Iwabuchi is Professor in the Faculty of Arts, Monash University. He is a chair in Media and Cultural Studies and the director of Monash Asia Institute. He has edited Feeling Asian Modernities Transnational consumption of Japanese TV drama (Hong Kong University Press, 2004) and Rogue Flows Trans-Asian cultural traffic (with Mueke and Thomas, Hong Kong University Press, 2004).
