Description:
(Cape Town: Avian Demography Unit / Kimberley: Northern Cape Department of Tourism, Environment and Conservation, 2006) 0799223069. 210 x 148 mm; pictorial wrappers; pp. (iv) + 92; line drawings; map. Scuffs to upper cover and to tail of spine. Good condition. "The Orange River, the lifeblood of the Northern Cape, flows into the sea at this corner of our country. Its shallow waters and adjacent habitats provide important feeding, roosting and breeding habitat for a variety of waterbirds, especially considering that there are virtually no estuaries or river mouths along literally hundreds of kilometres of coastline on either side of the estuary. The importance of the Orange River estuary was identified several years ago and the wetland was consequently designated as a Ramsar Site, the only such wetland in the Northern Cape." .
