Included is a critical essay on the artists work and biographical details. This copy has a slight impression to the front cover, not very noticeable, appears to be the results of having a heavy book squeezed next to this copy on a shelf. No former ownership marks. Christian Von Schneidau was one of a group of artists who worked in California in the early 20th Century, along with Alson Clark, Sam Hyde Harris and Franz Bischoff. A popular portrait painter in the 1920's and 1930's, he also painted seascapes an landscapes as well. Part of a series of title published by Petersen on California artists.
