From the publisher

The Lost Book of Magic, Zolar's magic book of ancient Egyptian magic, is about a book that has been forgotten by the passing of centuries. Only a few had even heard of Zolar or his magic book. The story concerns the Goteborgs, a family of Swedish magicians. They have performed their magic throughout Europe for two centuries. The two oldest brothers, Otto and Wilfred Goteborg, studied and added to their vast knowledge of magic from the present to the past by searching in Egypt for invisible tonics. In the year 1871, Wilfred stumbles on the story of Zolar and the Ten Magicians in King Praenoman's service. The story he heard of Zolar's book is that it is a special book of earthly magic. Returning to Sweden, Wilfred convinces his older brother Otto to mount an expedition to find Zolar's lost book, traveling from Sweden to Egypt, through Greece, and then home through Europe. The Goteborg family, and the two giants that now accompany them, encounter many strange people on their quest to find the magic book. Once found, Zolar's magic book proves to possess magic powers of its own, powers that hint at the possible existence of a second book, a sister book, that is still undiscovered in Cyrene, an ancient city in North Africa.
