About the author

Janet Hogan Chapman is a self-described bohemian Southern belle. Her alter ego, GeorgiaJanet, wasn't born and bred in the briar patch, but pretty darn close to it. She grew up in and around Atlanta's West End where Joel Chandler Harris' home, The Wren's Nest, is located. In fact, she and Harris are fifth cousins four times removed. Janet is a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She has worn many hats, including pediatric physician's assistant, caterer, costumed party character, teacher, minister, and professor. But through it all she has loved and produced the written word. She has published professional education curricula, articles, essays, and poetry. Madam May is based on true events in the life of her paternal grandmother. GeorgiaJanet's other writing projects include southern family drama, memoir, and poetry.
