Very Good+. 8vo. 320 pp. Illustrated throughout with black-and-white photos. Text in Japanese. Includes chapters on Akira Minomura, 'The Father of Bondage Magazines,' and Black Masochistic Beauty: The World of Photographer Katsuya Yanai. The focus seems to be primarily on post-war photography. One ofthe most beautifully-presented books this cataloguer has seen in recent memory. Of note: author Masami Akita is also an internationally-acclaimed 'noise' musician working under the name Merzbow, with over 500 releases to his discography. Early work included soundtracks to SM films.
