1980.. 12 brightly coloured hand stencils on mulberry paper presented loosely enclosed in the original card mulberry paper covered folder, stencilled title label upper cover. Folder measures 38.9 x 29.5cm, calendar sheets 37 x 28cm. Each month features an attractive stylised seasonal design. Very good. Keisuke Serizawa (1895 – 1984) Japanese textile artist extraordinaire and leading member of the mingei movement, was honoured by Japanese authorities with the title "Living National Treasure" in 1956. His output was not limited to textiles alone publishing, amongst other items, screens, scrolls, fans, and curtains. Between 1946 and 1984 he published this strikingly beautiful series of hand stencilled calendars which even following his death his studio continued to publish for a further 4 years. .
