London, England: Thomas Agnes and Joseph Zanetti, 1830. Leather Binding. Good/Without Dust Wrapper. Folio - 12 to 15" tall. Two books making up a three volume set. Volume I and II are the History of the Foundations in Manchester of Christs College etc dated 1830. Volume III is The History of Manchester School Comprising the Foundation, the Original Character and Statutes and the Revenue and Expenditure etc. dated 1828. All three are in three quarter leather with 5 raised bands, gilt title and decoration down the spine. The corners are heavily bumped and rounded with small pieces of leather missing in places, there is wear to the extremities and boards. Volume III as a split at the hinge (approx. 2.5cms long) at the top of the front board. Each volume has an Ex libris plate on the front paste down, foxing and tanning is evident on the first and last few pages of each volume and many of the plates, otherwise the contents are clean, bright and tight.. As this item weighs over 1kg when packed additional postage may be required for delivery outside of the United Kingdom.
