Biography of the art patron and collector who was instrumental in founding the Museum of Modern Art, Colonial Williamsburg, and the eponymous Folk Art Center in New York City. She was a creative and optimistic force who was responsible for much of the artistic and cultural philanthropy of the wealthy Standard Oil family. She was the wife of John D. Rockefeller, Jr. and mother of New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller. 537 pages, index, b/w photos. Spine slightly loose/shaken, else nice.
