Octavo (19.5cm); vertically-ribbed green cloth boards and black cloth backstrip, with titles stamped in gilt on spine; red topstain; deckle edges; dustjacket; xiv,[8],9-223pp. Spine ends gently pushed, light rubbing to the gilt titles, with a few faint, partial ring marks on front cover; Very Good+. Dustjacket is unclipped (priced $2.00), edgeworn, gently sunned and dust-soiled, with a 1" loss at crown (affecting two words in the title), and several smaller losses at heel and corners; just Very Good.

Author of The Jazz Singer. *Accent on Youth* was the basis for three films: the first directed by Wesley Ruggles (1935) starring Astrid Allwyn and Lon Chaney, Jr.; *Mr. Music* (1950) directed by Richard Haydn, starring Bing Crosby, Nancy Olson and Charles Coburn; and *But Not for Me* (1959) directed by Walter Lang, starring Clark Gable, Carroll Baker, Lilli Palmer and Lee J. Cobb.
