Trubner and Co., London, first edition thus, 1885. Half-parchment and decorated boards, small 4to,. xii, 113, [3] pp, ills. Depositio Cornuti Typographici" is described elsewhere as "A comical or mirthful play which can be performed, without any offence, at the reception and confirmation of a journeyman who has learned honestly the noble art of printing.." The Depositio was a form of initiation which the apprentice had to undergo on entering the printing trade in Germany during the 17th and 18th centuries. The contents include much information relative to the early Printers Guilds of Germany, and other interesting matter of typography, with a bibliography of books in which the Depositio is partially given or described.
