The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, 1892, with no street name on the front cover and "Violent" for "Violet" on page 317 and “cucaine" for "cocaine" on page 133. Large octavo (9 1/4 by 6 1/4 inches). With 104 illustrations by Sidney Paget throughout. Original light blue cloth over beveled boards. Front cover and spine blocked and lettered in gilt and black. All edges gilt. Decorative floral endpapers. Hinge barely starting at pages 128 / 129. With some minor dust soiling and slight rubbing to the cloth and some edge wear, a 1/8” tear to the top of the spine, a bit of light foxing to a few preliminary and final pages, else a very good plus copy with just a hint of handling. With The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes illustrated by Sidney Paget, 1894. First edition. Large octavo (6 1/2 by 9 1/2 inches). With ninety illustrations in the text (including frontispiece). Original dark blue cloth over beveled boards. Front cover and spine blocked and lettered in gilt and black. All edges gilt. Decorative floral patterned endpapers. Gilt on spine slightly rubbed and with a hint of edge wear. Some very mild foxing to preliminaries, else a near fine sound copy. Both volumes are enclosed in a custom blue cloth clamshell box with a gilt-stamped leather label to the spine.
