The Bodley Head, London, 1953. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/Good. Editor's note and acknowledgements. Grey coloured boards with dark red coloured insert to the top edge of the back strip  with grey coloured titles and small illustration to the lower back strip edge. Illustrated dustwrapper with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Thirteen short stories, from the early 1950s or even late 1940s, in which science-fiction authors peer into the future. Authors include Ray Bradbury, Ward Moore, A. E. van Vogt and Leigh Brackett. Softening and a little rubbing of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners. Sunning to the back strip with light tanning and foxing of the text block edges; age toning and faint foxing of the pages. Offset tanning and a few foxing spots to the end pages. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down. Chipping of the top dustwrapper corners, back strip edges and lower right-hand corner of the front panel. Minor creasing of the dustwrapper edges with sunning to the dustwrapper  most particularly noted to the rear panel. There is 1/2 inch tear to the top left hand corner of the front panel.
