About This Item

Garden City: Doubleday & Co., Inc., 1947. Stone's biographical novel of the Socialist leader Eugene Debs; a Very Good (Plus) copy of a Later Printing. Black cloth binding with spine labeling in red and gilt. Only hints of bumps; very bright, almost new condition. Clean text; 432 pages, with four pages of publisher's adverts for other Stone works in the rear. There is a publisher defect on the rear paste-down, where a bump in the board has caused a crease affecting the last 40-50 pages of the book (sounds worse than it is!). The dustjacket is also Very Good (Plus); it is unclipped but the price has been inked out. It shows a bit of edgewear with some tiny chips along the tips of the spine. In an archival plastic protector.. Later Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good (Plus)/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
