Rare edition of this collection of Aesop's Fables, part of the "Told to the Children" series. Dark grey cloth cover with gilt stamped on spine and front, plus full-color illustration. Deckle-edged paper.
Copiously illustrated, with some 22 charming full-color plates. Unfortunately, at least four of these plates are loose inside the book (see pictures).
FON inscribed in FFEP, dated 1914.
Jacket has multiple stains and rubbing. Spine is cocked. Rear hinge is cracked near top. Pages are age tanned and have some stains. Cracked at title page, page 10, page 25 & page 35.
