Koestler went on to publish many essays, memoirs and novels, including 'The Age of Longing' critiquing or espousing various political causes. For his efforts, he was was awarded the Sonning Prize in 1968, and in 1972 he was made a CBE, a 'Commander of the Order of the British Empire'. In a green cloth binding with original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, excellent condition. Slightly bumped to head and tail of spine. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean, slightly age toned to edges. The odd light spot throughout. Dustwrapper, generally smart. Sunned to spine. Marking to rear of wrap.
