Printed wraps. 32 pp. First issue of this little magazine focusing on literature of the South, including poetry and prose, with work by Norman Macleod, Jewell Miller and others. With a letter from the editor, Addison Hibbard, discussing and criticizing, the overuse of certain characters or themes in Southern writing, including stereotypical portrayals of African-Americans. GOOD condition. Heavy offsetting/darkening along the extremities, with moderate foxing. Some soiling and small areas of staining. Heavy pencil line at the front for edge, with a cursive l at the top left corner. Minor wrinkling and creasing along the extremities.
