The last book in Thomas' long career that began in 1966 with an Edgar Award for his first novel, "The Cold War Swap." This final novel features cashiered Army Major Edd Partain, a former Intelligence operative in Central America, who hires on to help Millicent Altford, a "rainmaker" adept at shaking the Washington money tree recover $1.2 million stolen from her secret war chest. Two pages lightly dogearred; inside cover and front end paper show faint traces where a book plate and address sticker were removed, o/w text and boards are clean, tight, square; dustjacket shows very minimal surface and edgewear.
