New York: Holt Rinehart & Winston, 1982. Flawless copy of her first Kinsey Millhone mystery. Crisp, clean copy. This copy was purchased by Sue Grafton in 2000 from a bookseller in Cambridge, Ma for $1500. Receipt for the purchase with her name and credit card number (purchased over the phone) was laid into book. She kept it until her death. This book and approximately 300 others were purchased from her estate after her death. Provenance can be provided. Signed by author on bookplate that is laid in. Bookplate apparently used for professional purposes as it had her Kinsey Millhone characters name on it as well as her own. In mylar. . Signed by Author. First American Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
Synopsis
"A" Is for Alibi is the first novel in the Kinsey Millhone series by crime writer Sue Grafton. It was published in 1982. The first printing of "A" Is for Alibi was 7,500 copies. Grafton based the story to some extent on her own 'fantasies' of murdering her then husband prior to divorce.
