New York: Holt, Rinehart and Winston, 1968. First Edition. Cloth. Good/Good. Stated first edition. Hard cover in clipped jacket. Illustrated by George Loh. Part of the Rivers of America series. A history of this river in Northwestern Maine, from its importance to the timer and logging industries, who waged private wars against Canada to keep its timber, to its rejuvenation by conservationists in the 1960's. GOOD jacket and book. Minor toning and soiling to the jacket, with a few faint stains to the rear panel. A few faint, dark scuffs to the jacket. Book faded, heavy along the extremities. Minor soiling edgewear. Light foxing to the page edges.
