Blue binding, gold lettering, blue tint to top edge, deckled fore-edge (to give book a quality look), frontispiece of Herman Schneider (other vintage photos throughout), 324 pages. A bound-in page insert presents this book to a 1933 graduate of the College of Engineering at University of Cincinnati. The insert is signed by the president of the university, the dean of the College of Engineering, and the author of the book. Condition of book: Two light bumps to binding; stain on first free endpaper (from University of Cincinnati logo on bound-in insert); faint age toning; else overall Very Good. Book kept in temperature-controlled room. Dustjacket: Price intact on flap. Shelf wear; closed tears; light abrasion marks and wear; lightly age toned; else overall Good. Protected in Mylar cover. This is the biography of Dean Herman Schneider of the president of the University of Cincinnati. He helped broaden the scope of education; gave his students an active interest in the arts; wrote stories, essays, and poems; fostered basic industrial research; assisted companies with their problems; and helped many students with their college experiences, personal difficulties, and opportunities for advancement.
