About This Item

Black cloth spine with copper lettering, Maple colored paper boards with black lettering. The only defect is lightened black on the spine ends, not bad but correcting it will require doing the whole spine to match. It really isn't bad but it is not perfect. Unread tightness very square and very clean with no marks(looks almost new). DJ no defects. Signed name only on the 1st title page. The Franklin Library is mentioned for its Private Printing.

Synopsis

Susan Sontag was an American author, literary theorist, essayist and political activist. Her novel, In America was the 2000 winner of the National Book Awards. This fascinating exploration into the lives of a group of artistic and intellectual Poles, led by an actress, Maryna Zalezowski is written in a beautiful, fluid prose. The group travels to Anaheim, California in 1876 to try to pursue their dream of a utopian society. They form a farming commune where everyone is changed and challenged by the experience. Artfully written and assiduously researched, it is a novel well-worth reading.

I am a private collector, mainly Pulitzer Prize winners, but I inherited 1000's of hardcovers and looking to sell them off. I will be relocating in the near future, and need to lighten the load.
