New York, NY, USA: C.M. Saxton, 1850. Not Stated. Hardcover. Good. Blue embossed boards with gilt lettering and graphic on the spine. The corners, top and base of the spine are starting to fray. All pages have foxing and/or age spots. Signed and dated [July 1st, 1850] by previous owner on the front free page. Notation on the lower part of the front end paper. Illustrated by more than 100 engravings. "Being a practical treatise on soils, manures, draining, irrigation, grasses, grain, roots, fruits, cotton, tobacco, sugar cane, rice, and every staple product of the United States, with the best methods of planting, cultivating, and preparation for market." 325 pages plus "The Hasty-Pudding" a poem in three Cantos by Joel Barlow with A Memoir on Maize or Indian Corn compiled by D.J. Browne. The poem and memoir are 48 pages plus the pages of advertisements.
