Beecher's speeches delivered in Great Britain and published together in one volume. Speeches during the Civil War period regarding the Union, Slavery and the state of affairs in the United States. 175 pp. including Appendix: The Rev. Mr. Beecher at Lancashire Independent College. Front cover missing, therefore the title page is mildly soiled with some small chips to the bottom edge. 5" tear from base of spine hinge. Most of spine paper missing but publication intact. Covers are Good-. Many pages uncut. Interior is tight, clean and Very Good. Henry Ward Beecher (1813 - 1887) was a prominent, theologically liberal American Congregationalist clergyman, social reformer, abolitionist, and speaker in the mid to late 19th Century. . Wraps. Good. Size: Approx. 5 1/4" x 8 1/2". Civil War.
