[SUFFRAGETTE AMY TALBOT DUNN LETTER SIGNED 1883 RARE] AMY TALBOT DUNN, 19TH CENTURY SUFFRAGETTE, handwritten letter signed/ALS, dated Knob View, MO [Missouri], Crawford Co[ounty], October 27, 1883, 5-1/2" x 9"/about 125 words, lightly waxen paper, folds as mailed, to Israel A. Barker (Brooklyn), replying to letter from Israel about her situation and scheduling when to meet with him when she is in Brooklyn, letter reading in part, "I have been living in great seclusion for some months and have sought no means of advertizing myself…My home has been in Indianapolis until this year…It will probably be changed now to the above address [in Missouri, see address with date above]…I shall expect you…as usual, to defray my local expenses when in Brooklyn…"; signature authenticated by seller with lifetime guarantee; AMY TALBOT DUNN: d. 1916 in Los Angeles…"In pioneer days. Mrs. Dunn was an act­ive suffragists and had been associat­ed in the work of the movement for a number of years" (obituary Bismarck Daily Tribune, April 19, 1916)…"the proceedings of the Association [suffragette organization] were inaugurated at Lincoln Hall [in Washington, D. C.] Monday evening by a novel lecture, entitled 'Zekle's wife,' by Mrs. Amy Talbot Dunn of Indianapolis…" (Votes for Women: Complete History of the Woman Suffrage Movement in U. S.), Amy Talbot Dunn was an active and committed suffragette in the latter 1800s and early 1900s alongside better known figures such as Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B.
